Professor D. Sivakumar had been an experience in teaching, industry, and research for about 21 years. He worked in various Academic Institutions and Industries. He is currently Professor of the Department of Civil Engineering, Vel Tech High Tech Dr. Rangarajan Dr. Sakunthala Engineering College, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He published 3 Patents and registered 2 Patents. He successfully completed the AICTE, New Delhi funded project on "Experimental Investigation on flow through porous medium" during June 2016. He has completed 6 consultancy projects on industrial wastewater treatment. He organized 20 programmes on conferences, seminars, workshops, and FDPs, of which, he received one grant on each Conference, Seminar and FDP from AICTE, CSIR and ISTE government organizations respectively. He received 36 honours, awards, and prizes for his academic research activities from various organizations and institutions. He published 5 books on Environmental Science and Irrigation Engineering. He received “IEAE-Research Excellence Award 2017” and “VIFA-Outstanding Faculty in Civil Engineering Award 2017”. He acts as Guest editor for 5 journals, in which he released technical papers on specific theme. He is an active member in 9 professional societies in India. He is approved Ph.D. guide for Anna and other Universities. He published 109 Journal papers, which indexed in ISI, Scopus, and Google Scholar. He presented 34 papers in International Conferences and 165 papers in National Conferences organized by various Educational Intuitions and Organizations. He is Managing Editor of Global Journal of Environmental Science and Management and Associate Editor for International Journal of Environmental Science and Technology. He serves as one of the Editorial Board Members for 14 journals and Reviewer for 9 journals, which are published by Elsevier, Springer, ACS, RSC and other organizations. His area of interest are geographical information system; groundwater quality analysis; surface water quality analysis; biogeochemistry; bioremediation (soil and groundwater); contaminate degradation and transformation; Contaminant transport modeling; Water and wastewater management; Water treatment, wastewater treatment, and disposal and solid waste management.
